During the early 1800s, what was the opinion of many people about the great plains?

    A vast desert, in which nothing can live.

    Only Native Americans can live in this area.

    In late 1800's to early 1900's massive farming took over.

    Called bonanza farms. Over farming led to destruction of the top soil.

    This led to the dust bowl.
