What was the effect of the Dawes Act on Native American cultural beliefs and traditions

well, in 1851, the reservation system was introduced. this reserved plots of land for Indians to live on. Indians resisted leading to confinement and battles. in 1887, the Dawes act was created making assimilation larger and more fierce. Tribal lands were destroyed and became individual land, if Indians didn't buy them they couldn't become US Citizens. The 5 civilized Tribes, (Cherokee, Chickasaw, Choctaw, Creek, and Seminole), were already civilized, though they didn't accept individual plots as explained. In 1898 the Curtis Act was put into place that amended the Dawes act to affect the 5 Civilized tribes. governments were obliterated, courts destroyed, and then all of their land was sold to white american land owners. Then in the end, the reorganization act was created during the great Depression phasing out the Dawes act, and let Indians back on their land. All in all, the Dawes act was a destruction targeted towards the breaking down of culture and traditions and native american tribes.
