A rigid class system is a manner of social organization in which, at birth, an individual already pertains to a certain group and social mobility is almost non-existent along lifetime.

A society which follows this model would prevent immigration. Newcomers usually pertain to the lower social classes, and if they know in advance that they will have no possibilities of improvement, they would probably choose a different destination. In the end, the most damaged ones by such a system are the national individuals who pertain to the lower social classes, as the structures that function in their country foster inequality and prevent them from improving their situation and living conditions.
