Describe the relationship between the Virginia colonists and the local native Indian tribes in the time of early settlement of the Chesapeake. What happened in 1622 that changed that relationship?

    Native Americans and European Colonists did not have a good relationship. The Indian massacre of 1622, Natives struck. In all, nearly 350 colonists were killed; Jamestown itself was saved only by the warning of an Indian Christian convert. One result was an ever-hardening English attitude toward the Indians. Another was bloody reprisals against local Indians.
