Henry Flagler - a business tycoon, real estate promoter and co-founder of Standard Oil Company turned his interest to other businesses like hotels and resorts and building railway lines when he visited Florida and saw the potential of Florida to attract the visitors. He built big and famous hotels in Florida. But there was no smooth transportation and railway connectivity with the Florida. So he build the Florida East Coast Railway to attract and bring tourists and visitors to these luxurious hotels he had built along the Florida coastline.
