The Great White Fleet is the popular name that receives the combat fleet that completed the circumnavigation of the globe from December 16, 1907 to February 22, 1909 by order of the President of the United States Theodore Roosevelt. The fleet consisted of four squads of four battleships each, with their corresponding escorts. Roosevelt intended to demonstrate the US military potential and oceanic capacity of its fleet.

With their white-painted hulls with the exception of golden scrolls on their bows that carried badges in red, white and blue, these ships would eventually be known as the Great White Fleet.
