Marco Polo fell in love with the city of Hangzhou, capital of the Southern Song Dynasty (1127-1279), its canals and the West Lake, similar in a way to Venice, and visited it very often. Consequence of it were the multiple writings that he dedicated to praise this beautiful city and its bucolic surroundings.
