    Production increased in factories.

The rise in automation has led to higher volumes of production and a shift in productivity with enhanced speed times. As automated equipment is incorporated on an industrial scale, almost all sectors are able to produce even a larger quota of products than a great number of humans working together. Today many productive branches are including the use of robotics, particularly in manufacturing. The downside usually is the loss of a great number of jobs as a consequence of this. With higher production speeds and productivity, cheaper labor costs result, so this is often the main criticism to it. The tendency is now to protect workers as well as to seek for conscious use of automation that is as well "socially responsible".
