    The Spanish colonization of the south Americas and the central Americas and the British occupation of the region of New England were two of the landmark moments of the history of the two continents.

    Both resulted in a massive population shift and in turn made the different countries the way that they exist today.

    The settlers of new England were usually there for religious reasons while Spanish effort was more economic but these boundaries were soon blurred.
