Answer: V-E day was "Victory in Europe Day." It was when the Allies accepted Nazi Germany's surrender. V-J Day was "Victory over Japan Day," when Japan unconditionally surrendered to the Allies.

V-J Day was August 14, 1945. It came after the United States dropped atomic bombs on the Japanese Cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
