The Lowell Mills strike was a strike by women and girls employed in industrial cooperations in Lowell, Massachusetts during the Industrial Revolution. They were protesting against poor working conditions and low wages.

In 1840 the Lowell workers organized the Lowell Female Labor Reform Association to press for reducing the workday to 10 hours.

The Association adopted the newspaper called 'The Voice of Industrie'.

It was the first Union of Working Women ever created in the USA.
