    On November 4, 1979, some Iranian students broke into the U. S. Embassy in Tehran and took more than sixty American hostages. They acted like this because Jimmy Carter allowed Shah, an autocrat who had been previously kicked out of his country, to get medical treatment in the U. S. They wanted to end the country's relationship with its past and stop America from intervening in their business.
