What was one problem faced by the settlers of Jamestown?

    The land they choose was low and swampy. Mosquitoes and other insects spread sickness and disease. In about 6 months half of the settlers had died. They had been so busy searching for gold they didn't plant crops and the food they had brought with them ws nearly gone.
