Common characteristics of both Puritans and Pilgrims:

Both Pilgrim and Puritans were totally against to the Catholic Church. The two kinds of colonists had the conviction that the Anglican church should implement several reforms to eliminate every sign of the Roman Catholic Church. These two groups looked forward to achieving religious freedom and the creation of a new church in the colonies totally separated from the Church of England. They both were deeply committed to govern their lives under the principles of religion, being totally strict in their behavior and lifestyle.
