Describe the difference in warfare between the continental army and the militia?

Continental Army was the army formed at the beginning of the American Revolutionary War by the colonies that became the United States of America. Established by a resolution of the Continental Congress - on June 14, 1775 - the army had been set up to coordinate the military efforts of the Thirteen Colonies and their struggle against the rule of Great Britain. He was associated with local militias and other troops that remained under state control. George Washington was his commander-in-chief throughout the war.

The militias can be official organizations maintained partially with resources of the State and in partnership with organizations of private character, often of dubious legality. They may have public objectives of national defense or of internal security, or may act in the defense of particular interests, with political and monetary objectives. They are still considered militias all organizations of the outsourced public administration and that possess military status, not belonging to the Armed Forces of a country, that is, to the Army, Navy or Air Force.
