    The policy of dollar diplomacy, the good neighbor as well as the alliance for progress were all foreign policies designed and implemented by the American government to ensure the financial stability of their neighbor countries.

    First, the policy of dollar diplomacy, created by President William Howard Taftas who characterized it as a program aimed in "substituting dollars for bullets", by guaranteeing loans to foreign countries.

    Second, the good neighbor, implemented during the administration of President Franklin Roosevelt and whose main principle was the non-intervention, the non-interference in the domestic affairs of Latin America as well as the reinforcement of the idea that the United States should be a "good neighbor" and engaging in reciprocal trade exchanges with Latin American countries.

    Finally, the alliance for progress initiated by President John F. Kennedy in 1961 in order to establish economic cooperation between the U. S. and Latin America.
