    The major struggle was to unite people for one cause and with the movements like civil disobedience, dandi march etc. Indian population was united

    Explanation:

    Indian independence movement started since 1857 but by 1930-31 i. e after the civil disobedience movement, civilian also started participation in freedom struggle thereby making it a mass movement. This was followed by Salt March "Dandi March" to establish unity.

    Then in 1929, Indian National congress celebrated Independence day on 26th January.

    In 1942 quit India movement started in which even women and children participated.

    On August 15, 1947, the Indian Independence Bill took effect and India finally achieved independence on 15 August 1947.
