    pentatonic

    Explanation:

Dvořák used popular melodies in his American works. He was inspired by the folk songs of Native American and African American traditions.

And what characteristics did he find in black and Indian music? At least two are the ones that pop out the most - or rather the ears. The first is the use of the pentatonic scale.

The traditional musical scale has seven notes; On the other hand, the pentatonic scale removes two of these notes, exactly those that make up the two semitones of the larger scale, and we get a five-note scale without semitones.

The second common feature is the use of natural sensitivities on the smaller mode scales, making them sound like aeolian mode.

It is a musical scale which has 5 notes for every octave and is in contrast to heptatonic scale which has 7 notes in every octave.
