    B is the correct answer.

    Explanation:

    The depression of the 1890s was preceded by events that weakened the economy. The panic of 1893 contributed to the economic recession. In the US the Reading Railroad collapsed, after these hundreds of banks and businesses which were dependent on it and other railroad companies also collapsed. The stock market also collapsed due to which the foreign investors withdrew their funds. Businesses were ruined and more than four million became unemployed. The then US president did nothing to improve the situation as he believed that the recession was a part of the business cycle and political parties shouldn't interfere with it.

    The answer is either A or C because the other two arent causes more of after effects. I would guess the answer is C.
