The campaign of destruction that lasted 62 days tore apart Georgia, destroyed the railroads, destroyed bridges, farms, and freed slaves, all of this to break Southern Morale which Sherman beleived was the main weapon of the Southerns the goal was to make Georgia "Hawl".
