Q:1 Does Adler's theory qualify as a scientific theory?

No, his theory can't qualify as scientific because the measures he uses to determine human's personality can't be determined by any test. He only says that we have superior and inferior feelings, but how can you measure this?

Q:2 Is Jung's view of human nature pessimistic or optimistic? Justify your answer and include a comparison between Jung's and Freud's views.

Jung's theory has been praised for accounting for multitude of human attributes, emphasizing the importance of the future for human behavior, describing the self-realization process, being optimistic about humans rather than pessimistic, and recognizing the importance of meaning of human existence.

While Freud divided the psyche into unconscious, preconscious and conscious, Jung divided into ego, personal unconscious and collective unconscious. The main difference between Freud and Jung, when it comes to the psyche, is the inclusion of Jung's collective unconscious.
