The code talkers work contributed was mostly associated with the bilingual Navajo speakers who were recruited during the 2nd World War by the United States Marine Corps to serve in the standard communications units of the Pacific theater to combat units overseas. The Cherokee and Choctaw peoples pioneered code talking during World War I, And in World War II the Code Talkers communicated messages through radio and telephone in their native language, a code that the Japanese were unable to break.
