What conditions existed that led to the independence movements of Soviet satellites countries and republics

There are three conditions that we can identify:

Glasnot: this word means "transparency" in Russian and was one of the two landmark policies of Mikhail Gorbachev. It led to a more open and transparent soviet government: the government now allowed criticism from citizens. Perestroika: this world means "restructuring" in Russian, and was the other landmark policy of Gorbachev. It led to changes in the Russian economy, but these changes in the end could not fully save the lagging socialist, planned economy. Movements within the Soviet Union: both glasnot and perestroika propelled internal movements within the Soviet Union, and Russia, which was the central Soviet country, and this inspired similar movements in other Soviet republics.
