    Explanation:

The Renaissance marks the beginning of the Modern Age, a historical period that is usually established between the discovery of America in 1492 and the French Revolution in 1789, and which, in the cultural field, is divided into the Renaissance (XV centuries and XVI) and the Baroque (17th and 18th centuries), with subdivisions such as Mannerism, Rococo and Neoclassicism. Other historians place the start date in 1453, the fall of Constantinople, or highlight a momentous event as the invention of the printing press (around 1440, by the hand of Johannes Gutenberg).

In natural sciences and medicine there were also important advances: in 1543 Andrés Vesalio published De humani corporis fabrica, a compendium of anatomy with profuse illustrations considered one of the most influential scientific books of all time; Bartolomeo Eustachio discovered the adrenal capsules; Ambroise Paré initiated modern surgery; Conrad von Gesner inaugurated modern zoology with a first classification of animals by genera and families; Miguel Servet described the pulmonary circulation, and William Harvey the blood circulation; Gabriele Falloppio studied the inner structure of the ear; Ulisse Aldrovandi created the first botanical garden in Bologna; Bernard Palissy founded the paleogeography; Caspar Bauhin introduced a first method of classifying plants; and Zacharias Janssen invented the microscope in 1590.
