    1) characterized Southerners as traitors with no morals

    Explanation:

Abraham Lincoln as the elected president of the United States of America when most Southern States are planing to secceed out from the union accused them of being traitors with no morals.

This is because, they with the Northern States entered into contract agreement inorder to form the Union known as United States of America but want to seceed out just because of slave trade issues that came up.

He ended up reassuring them of his plan on not abolishing the slave trade nor bring to stop the law in the constitutuion called the Fugitive Slave Act.

In his concluding part of his speech, he advised the Southern States to work with the Free States to come up with solutions to the slave trade rather than seceeding. If the try to seceed, he would be left with no other option to employ military force to ensure the unification of all states in the country rather than its breaking into smaller regions.
