The Cold War originated in the clash of systems between the United States and the Soviet Union, which is to say, a permanent confrontation of two opposed models and lifestyles: Democracy and Communism. This raised concerns in America that Communist followers might act as Soviet spies in the U. S., which started the Red Scare, named so because of the Soviet allegiance to its red flag.
