During the Kublai Khan's (1215-1294) reign, on period called Mongolian peace (Pax Mongolica), China experienced economic growth and cultural diffusion. China was opened to cultural and religious diversity. He restructured China's political structure and developed its literature and architectural style.

By doing that, China became an important cultural transmission in a constant seek of talented craftsmen and artisans to work under their civil service.
