The Vietnam War was a conflict that marked the communist government of North Vietnam and its allies in South Vietnam, known as the Viet Cong, against the government of South Vietnam and its principal ally, the United States.

Vietnam War was also referred to as "American War" in Vietnam.

This war was actually not a war. During start of this War, Congress deployed troop in Vietnam but they did not call for any kind of war. So, this was not considered as war in United States.

The main intention of this war was to unit entire Vietnam under one communist regime and not in blocks. This desire was felt by North Vietnam after union of provinces in China and Soviet Union.

The Vietnam War saw heavy causality both of soldiers and civilians from both the sides. The War saw a complex political and military issues that claimed millions of lives.
