This is the first year Janis is playing softball. She has been practicing her batting. On her last swing the bat made an arc with a radius of 48 inches and swept through 255° of rotation. a) 214 in

    b) 18 feet

    Explanation:

    Arc length formula = 2πr*∅/360°

    Given r = 48 in and ∅=255° then

    Arc length = 2*3.14*48*255°/360° = 213.62 = 214 in

Changing inches to feet, you divide inch value by 12

    214/12 = 17.80 = 18 feet
