The Confucianism and the Legalism has a basic difference. The Confucianists believed that the Harmony will prevail if people accept the role in society. On the other hand, the Legalists believed that people are naturally evil.

    The Confucianism was founded a wise philosopher government minister by the name of Kong Fuzi-later latinized as Confucius by sixteenth-century Jesuits. He believed that the social development can only occur by the ethical and moral development of the people. The people need to be respectful and government need do their duty with respect and moral values.

    On the contrary, the Legalists believed that there should be strict law for crime. Even greater punishments for the smaller crime so that the bigger crime will be stopped by the fear of punishment. Because people are evil by the nature and they will afraid if only the punishment is harsh.
