The role of Women was very limited in this time. Women were expected to be housewives, mothers or servant's and serve and care for the men and children. Due to sickness women usually didn't have that many kids. When a child survived it was a blessing and women took pride in being mothers. Women were considered to be the weaker sex, physically and emotionally.
