The National Socialist German Worker's Party, also known as the Nazi Party led by Adolf Hitler and founded in 1919 was a totalitarian government in Germany from 1933 to 1945. The Nazi Party gained German backup it was able to exploit racism and resentment created after World War I by promoting German pride and anti-Semitism, and by blaming Jews and Communists for the problems in Germany. The Great Depression contributed significantly for the rise of power of the Nazi Party because people believed Democrats, Communists and Liberals were not able to rescue the economy of Germany and saw the Nazi Party as the party that could end the depression and restore the Germans' economy.

The Nazi Party gained seats in the Legislature and when the government couldn't end the depression, Hitler was installed into power (1933).
