How was an increased population put a strain on our natural resources?

Due to the growing rate of the the human population, the depletion of the Earth's natural resources is taking place.

The more is the population, the more will be the utilization of the resources. As the huge population of humans will use more water, electricity, timber and wood, and other things. There are more people then natural resources and because of that they are becoming scarce.
