    The U. S. was becoming an increasingly urban nation. There were a lot of new buildings built. The cities were also a lot more diverse because of all of the new immigrants moving to cities to find work and to take advantage of the fact that America is the land of opportunity.

    Immigrants were moving to the U. S. Most of them moved to cities and a lot of them made up our work force.
