How did the Arabs in Palestine react to the Partition Plan?

The Palestinian Arabs rejected this plan, especially as the Jews were to be given the larger area. The Arabs did not want to give up their land. They felt that the western powers should find a home for the Jews elsewhere. After all, the Arabs were not responsible for the holocaust.
