    Similar to Hitler's rise to Power, mussolini and his compatriots were gaining momentum in an age of terror; Italy had been deciminated in WW1, and the country under the regime of the King was very unsucessful in regaining the lost money from the war. El Duce Mussolini took advantage of this by spewing forth his propoganda that, essentially, if the King couldn't take care of his people, somebody else should. No money=no food. Mussolini promised industrial revolution and security for the average Italian citizen, which he, for the most part, very much did provide prior to WW2.
