1. How would the ERA have fared if ratifying an amendment had required only a three-fifths majority of states? What about a two-thirds majority of states?

    If 2/3 of the states had ratified the ERA amendment it would have been approved.

    Explanation:

    The reason behind this is the fifth article of the constitution. Because it says that congress has to pass any amendment or bill that has at least two-thirds of the states approving it to be sent to the senate and to each state congress to be adopted as the state legislature. However if it passes by three fourths it goes straight to the constitution as an amendment.
