    These plantations were heavily reliant on slave labors. So, most people in Florida aware that abolishing slavery will resulted in massive economic damage toward the states. This is why they supported seceding from united states in order to keep slavery in the state.

    But, Lincoln wouldn't allowed the southern states to secede. Lincoln had no choice to initiate the war since the southern states did not want to abolish the slavery even after Lincoln offered them economic incentives to do so. As a response, the southern states (Including Florida) started united under the confederate flag to march in war against the northern's Union.
