    Explanation:

    Obviously, the biggest that comes to my mind is the Invasion & Annexation of Kuwait leading to the Persian Gulf war. The US got involved to protect the freedom and well-being of Kuwait. Iraq launched Scud missiles, aiming for Saudi Arabia and Israel, who wasn't even part of the war.

    This may be incorrect for your question, but there wasn't much clarification.
