The member of the house senate share's one job, which is to look over the bills trying to pass as a law. A legislator is a person who writes and passes laws. An idea for a law is called a bill. After a committee reviews a bill, the bill is sent to the house and senate for further discussion. A bill only becomes an official law after the president signs it.
