The economy was destroyed causing rapid inflation of German currency. The treaty also made them limit their military to 100,000 soldiers and no Air Force.

Economically speaking. They were thrashed with paying reprimands for all of the damage done. This stirred up a lot of tension between political parties as they felt like they were being suppressed and bullied by other nations.

Couple that with the Great Depression and evening worse economic outlook, they Germans wanted something or someone to take them out of the depths and into the "light" and we all know how that turned out.
