    Many settlers went to the Willapa Hills coastal area because of the oysters' area. This made the town grow and in 1855 Oysterville became the seat of Pacific County. People advertised oysters in San Francisco and people would pay big amounts of money for them.

    Later, after the oysters didn't grow there as much as before, cranberry farming, dairy farming, and tourism started to flourish.
