    Hoovervilles reach it highest numbers in 1930s, after many families lost their home due to the great Depression. The number of hoovervilles started to reduced after president Roosevelt introduced the new Deal programs. These programs provide the members of hoovervilles to obtain cheap/affordable loan to buy houses and obtain jobs provided by government funds.
