    C. Began peaceful, but increased conflict over farmland

Relations under William Pitt and during the early settling of the colony relations were peaceful. Pitt created treaties with the tribes and worked to create peaceful transitions. However, after Pitt left leadership, the attempts to peaceful relations went away. As more immigrant groups came into the colony the competition over land became more heated. This translated to more conflict with Indians over the little land left to settle.
