    In 1979 a major event that took place in the United Stated was an energy crisis. The oil Crisis of 1979 occurred in the world because the extraction of petroleum decreased. Therefore the price of oil crude went from US$15 to US$40 per barrel. The high prices in oil affected Americans lives since they panicked and started to buy oil. Several states implemented policies to reduce the use of gas.
