    The Justinian Code was a collection of Roman past laws, revised, interpreted and organized according to the criteria of the great Roman jurists from 529 to 534, under the order of the Byzantine emperor Justinian I. Through this review, the contradictions and conflicts of Roman statutes were eliminated, and others were corrected.
