Why does the current constitution of Texas divide power in the executive branch

    Whereas the federal constitution divides power into executive, judicial, and legislative branches, states often divide powers among multiple authorities. What is one result of this? In a state system, many lower-level officials end up with shared or overlapping responsibilities that, in a more centralized system, might reside in one top administrator.
