When the british ended colonial control of south asia in 1947, how was the region divided politically, and how was the region divided ethnically (religiously) ?

    Question: When the british ended colonial control of south asia in 1947, how was the region divided politically, and how was the region divided ethnically (religiously) ?

    Answer: It was politically divided into two countries, India & Pakistan. Pakistan was comprised of two areas, East & West Pakistan. Ethnically, India became mainly Hindu, while East & West Pakistan became mainly Muslim.
