When and where was vasco da gama born

Vasco da Gama was born in the town of Sines, a seaport on Alentejo's coast, which lies in the southern part of Portugal. There is lack of accord among Historians respecting the exact date of birth, which may be 1460 or 1469. Da Gama was the first european to reach India by sea.
