What action did John Adams take at the end of his presidency?

    John Adams in the 1780's worked as diplomat in Europe and through the Treaty of Paris got to end the American Revolutionary War.

    Then he was first vice president of America and he always knew that the best way to transform America in a powerful country was to avoid the French Revolution to permit to the economy and to the government to grow up.

    For this reason he went to negotiate with France while reinforced the country's defenses.
